Sola terms of use

These terms are the agreement between you and Zumy Labs Limited for using Sola. Please read them; by using Sola you accept them.

1. Who provides Sola

Sola is provided by Zumy Labs Limited, Dublin, Ireland (“Zumy”, “we”, “us”). Zumy Labs Limited is being incorporated in Ireland; until registration is complete, Zumy is run by its founder, who is responsible for these commitments, and the company takes them over once it is registered. Contact: hello@zumy.ai.

2. What Sola is

Sola is a web browser with an AI assistant built in. It can answer questions about pages and tabs, research the web, keep Spaces of files and notes, and do tasks in the browser when you ask it to. Sola is based on Chromium; the open-source licences of Chromium and its components are listed at chrome://credits in the browser and apply to that code.

3. Your account

You must be at least 13 to use Sola, or older if the law where you live requires it. Give accurate information, keep your sign-in secure and tell us at hello@zumy.ai if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for what happens in your account.

If you are under 18, you need your parent's or guardian's permission to use Sola.

4. Your content

What you put into Sola and what Sola creates for you belongs to you, as far as the law allows. You give us permission to host, copy, process and display it only to run Sola for you (for example to send it to the AI model that answers you) and to keep the service safe. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups, which are overwritten within 30 days.

You confirm you have the right to everything you upload or connect, and that using it in Sola does not break anyone else's rights.

5. Tasks you ask Sola to do

When you ask Sola to act in the browser, it does so in your name, on websites with their own terms. You are responsible for the actions you ask for and approve, including anything sent, deleted or bought, and for following the terms of the websites it uses. Sola always asks before sending, deleting or paying, and you should check each step before you confirm it.

6. AI output

Sola uses AI. AI can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and similar requests can get different answers. Check anything important, and do not rely on Sola for medical, legal, financial or safety decisions without a qualified person. Output is not professional advice, and it may not be unique: other people may receive similar output.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use Sola to:

We may remove content, limit features or suspend accounts that break these rules, and report illegal content to the authorities.

8. Plans, payments and cancelling

Free includes the Assistant, research, Computer mode and Spaces, with daily and monthly limits shown in Sola. Sola Pro raises those limits and gives access to more capable models. Sola Pro costs 14.99 US dollars a month or 119.99 US dollars a year, or the local price shown by the App Store, Google Play or our checkout before you buy. Sola does not currently offer a free trial.

If a web payment fails, Sola Pro stays active for 7 days while we retry. If a purchase is refunded or charged back, Sola Pro ends straight away.

9. Other services

Sola can link to or work with services we do not run. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to them, and we are not responsible for them.

Websites you visit with Sola are run by others; their terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.

10. Changes to Sola and to these terms

We keep improving Sola, so features may change or end; we try to give notice before removing something important you pay for. We may update these terms; if a change is significant we tell you in Sola or by email at least 30 days before it applies. If you do not agree, you can stop using Sola and cancel before the change applies.

11. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Sola and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or when the law requires it; where we reasonably can, we tell you why first and let you download your content.

12. Warranties and liability

Sola is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose.

To the extent the law allows, Zumy is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill, and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of what you paid us for Sola in the 12 months before the claim and 100 US dollars (or the equivalent in your currency).

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.

13. Governing law and disputes

Please contact us first at hello@zumy.ai; most problems are solved quickly that way. These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland have jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live, and the mandatory consumer laws of your country still apply.

14. Apple and Google

If you got Sola from the Apple App Store, these terms are between you and Zumy, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Sola or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is not responsible for any claims about it (including product-liability, legal-compliance or intellectual-property claims). If Sola fails to meet a warranty that applies, you may notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. You confirm you are not in a country under a US government embargo and are not on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies where these terms do not cover something.

If you got Sola from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply to your purchase.

15. General

These terms, together with the Sola privacy policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about Sola. If a part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them to a company that takes over Sola, and your rights stay the same.
